A very strong temperament
This breed of dog is really loyal to its owner. It’s naturally aggressive to other dogs. This breed is known for its reflexes, its strong temperament and used for hunting. It usually hunt small animals like squirrels but also distracts bears. In hunting bear, moose, lynx or wolf, a Karelian Bear Dog is used to harry the animal by barking loud and scared them. That’s why we call it a “Karelian Bear Dog”, for its ability to hunt and protect against bears. This breed of dog is silent and only alert when it’s necessary. It’s a really tenacious hunter but also a very protective dog. Fearless by nature, this breed is known to be independant in difficult conditions. They’re not for a casual pet owner, they’re extensively trained to be a hunter, a companion and a protector.
